A mother's wall.....so sweet!!!!

Well I have decided lately that i seem to have a bunch of started but unfinished projects around my house. Since i hurt my foot yesterday at work there is no time like the present to craft and get things finished. I saw this idea on pinterest and fell in love with it so i bought the clocks and frames and that was as far as i got. I was a bit nervous about working with vinyl and my Cricut because i have never done it before. I think it worked out great and can't wait to get started on the next project with vinyl. I rustled up some nice baby pictures of my girls and grabbed my Cricut. I used the Jasmine cart for the numbers because i love the font. The transfer tape made it a breeze to get the date on the wall. The hardest part was waiting for my husband to return my phone call......i can't seem to ever remember which girl was born at which time.....i was a bit busy those days!!! I found the poem at the top many years ago and loved it. It hung in both the girls rooms when they were babies then rested for years in my closet. It had a natural wood frame which i spray painted with a black rust-oleum spray paint that has gold flex in it. I actually used this spray paint on all my picture frames one by one. I love the uniform black and gold color but each frame still has its unique shape and texture.....so pretty.  I added the bows to both frames and hung everything up.....so sweet!!! I'm glad i finally finished it....now on to the other 47 projects I have started.

A little window makeover

Some fabric to match the paint I have picked out, a can of spray glue and my trusty glue gun. All I needed to turn those boring white roller shades into something much more interesting. Super easy one day project to put a smile on my face. All I did was measure the width of the shade and cut the fabric 2 inches larger than that measurement so I had enough for overlap. Then I rolled up the fabric and laid it in place and sprayed the glue as I unrolled it onto the shade. Last I flipped the whole thing over and used a hot glue gun to secure the overlap on the back. Before you know it your ready to hang it back up. A nice little valance will cover the top and window redo complete!!!! 1 down 2 more to go!!!

Something new for my kitchen

So I decided I needed to replace my 3 knife blocks on my counter because they were taking up way too much room and I found this really cool one in my local kitchen store. It has no knife slots just small tubes that come up from the bottom so you can put any knife any where.....love it!!! I got all 3 blocks in 1. After having it for a few days I wanted to give my kitchen something special, so I decided to personalize my new knife block. Super simple and a 1 day project. I painted it red and cut a fancy 4 inch M using my jasmine cart and my cricut. I used mod podge to glue it on and protect it then added some gems for sparkle and sprayed the whole thing with a clear coat so it would just wipe clean. It makes a big statement for hardly and money and I love it!!!!!

Ok, now that the info for the hop is done.......now here is my version of the sketch. I don't often use shades of blue so i decided to step out of my box and give it a try. I wanted to keep it simple so the card could be used for a veriety of occasions. Using some 3D foam stickers all of the rectangles are set at different heights to give the card some pop!! I added a bit of glitter.....because I could not resist the urge.....and colored in the LOVE with a silver pen. I think it looks great and so did my Grampa at Father's Day. Well everyone thank you for checking out my creation and enjoy the rest of the hop!!! There are many talented designers for you to check out and get inspiration from!!!

Now you are off to Zenita's Blog, have fun!!!

I can't believe this came out soooo cool!!!!

This is not really a craft project, just a neat idea i wanted to share. I am redecorating my youngest daughter caitlyn's room with hot pink walls, black trim and zebra accents and I hate painting trim. So I decided to try something......I used zebra duct tape!! It was so quick and easy and looks cute!!! 6 rolls of duct tape, 2 hours and no paint mess to clean up. I am either lazy or smart....not sure yet!!

Yes I made something other than a card....a wreath made from a book

I got this project idea from Fiskars blog and decided to try it. The directions were easy to follow and before I knew it I was addicted. After I was all done with the folding and the gluing I gave the whole wreath a spray with Glitter Mist in sand then a lighter spray with Glitter Mist in peach. Now it's ready to hang in the living room. It was so fun to make i'm thinking it might make a great Christmas gift for my sister in laws!!!

Mother's Day card

Now that Mother's Day is over I can share the card I made for all the moms in my life. I could not share it before I was afraid of them all seeing it before I gave it to them. Super simple to make!! I used my spellbinders die for the large tag with a pretty simple stamp for the greeting. Purple paper and a purple button, I wanted to keep it to just 2 colors so the decorations would stand out. On my last crafting shopping trip I picked up this small bow maker because I seem to struggle every-time I make a bow and I think it did the trick!!! A little darkening of the edges and it's all done.

For a new baby

Sometimes when I start a card I get my inspiration from one piece then build the rest of the card around that one piece. In this case I found the little baby sticker in my stash drawer and the color scheme quickly came to mind. I alway work with my first thought, worst case I'll end up with 2 cards instead of 1, and how bad would that really be???

Keeping it simple for Father's Day

I'm not really thrilled about making cards for guys but this time I think I kept it simple enough and got it right. I hope my hubby and our dad's will too!! When I'm making cards for guys I keep it to 2 or 3 colors and avoid the urge to use flowers and glitter and believe me that's really hard. So with a simple saying made with my cricut, some stripped paper for a foe ribbon and a few buttons I hope this will get my Father's Day wishes across.

Welcome to the June Sketch Blog Hop. Everyone has had so much fun doing these it's turned into a regular event! Here's the sketch:

For the second day of the hop I decided to change the theme of the card to something soft and since I have a first birthday in the family I decided to combine the two. I used a clear blue plastic overlay paper for the card base and my favorite cricut cart Create a Critter for the sweet little lamb. The cloud and the lamb appear to float on the card as you open it to read the message. I hope my little neice Izzy and her mommy will like it. Make sure to leave a comment for all the talented designers.....we love to hear how our creations inspire you!! Now off to Kerry's Blog for some more hopping and inspiration. Have a Great day!!!!

So here is my vision of the sketch. I decided to make the entire card from parts and pieces I had let over from other projecs. I used my cricut imagine to make the two ovals in the center and the rest just fell together. I started with the red butterfly i found in my desk and the designed blossemed from there. Make sure to leave all of the talented designers a comment......we love to here how our designs have inspired you!! Happy Hopping......now off to Kerry's Blog for you. Playing with colors today

I have often thought what certain colors would look like together so I decided to give some color combos a try. First up is orange and brown in a birthday card. I think I would be great for any guy on my list without being overly manly. I rather like the way it came out and super easy to make in mass if I need to.

Just the two of us

What a cute little card to let someone you love know just how you feel about them. I found the perfect cup image on the Ultimate creative series cart and used my imagine and the elise pattern cart for the coloring.  The saying on the card is a bit hard to see in this picture but says "just the two of us". I think it will be the perfect card for my hubby on our anniversary.

No more waste here

Ok so sometimes I manage to make cuts the wrong size and I hate to waste anything. I decided to put those wrong cuts to good use. Gift tags is my answer. I am always looking for a gift tag but never seem to have one on hand. So two problems have been solved. I guess I could just measure but what would be the fun in that. This new idea of mine also helps me use the left over paper I have from making one of my regular size cards. So here are the first two helpful mistakes....

Cute cupcake card

Still working on my birthday card stash.....if I keep this up I can move on to anniversary cards by the end of the month....lol. With my unlimited creative cart and the Elise pattern cart this sweet little card came to life. Cupcakes are all 2 inches and the tag was cut at 1.5 inches. The whole card measures 9 by 4. Last step was to give it a spray of glimmer mist for some sweet sparkle.
